Once some hardly can use PowerPoint for their needs, artist Chris Rodley makes dinosaurs from flowers. Specifically, he creates images via clever neural network. Rodley’s work seems to be not just a set of pictures to promote children for eating veggies, and it really should be demonstrated in one of the modern art galleries.
The nueral network is based on the structure of a biological analogue, so it can be called – digital human brain. Computer software has a set of parameters, while the network can adapt to new conditions via processing more and more data.
For the current art series Rodley played with Deepart.io service. Specifically, one visual style is applied to an uploaded image with the details and features are maintained.
“I guess the common thread in all of this is the idea not of using new tech to tell stories, but of using tech to tell new stories,” the artist commented. The dinosaur project by Rodley is likely the best example of the technology in operation.
Besides, he also used this algorithm to make dinosaurs using other objects.
